There are dragons to slay
and there are dragons to fly.
Gather yourself, you are enough©

Creative people summon their imagination for new ideas, inventions, songs, poetry, a good story, or a painting, to name just a few things. There are also things like cures, the inner journey, and even a new sales approach. Sometimes the imagination simply shows up.

However the imagination is tapped, it usually brings some of its friends along.

Friends like the Free Thinker, the Rule Breaker, the Escape Artist, and yup… Fear.

Fear has been a longtime buddy with the imagination. It can be a friend or a foe when it comes to our selves. It can be a potent motivator and protector. It can also show up as resistance, helping our imagination find the worse scenario. It’s up to us to decide if fear is helping us survive life itself, or is it preventing us from owning our dreams. The good news is that the mind of you, the Imaginer, knows the answer.

Fear doesn’t just leave, it has a point to make. It has to be persuaded, enticed, and soothed.

It has needs and can make something that you really want seem impossible. At that point, it’s time to decide if fear is a welcome player, or do we stand up to it and stop accepting it’s voice as truth.

Understanding what a fear is holding you back from, and why, is an opportunity for moving forward. You posses the ability to access that understanding within.

There is another friend that exists in the unconscious mind. Love. And Love wants only the best for you. It can provide the opportunity to become more than your current self. Love has a voice that is sometimes drowned out by the voice of fear.

With Guided Imagery, there is the possibility that when someone feels stuck, the cause can be identified and explored with a very simple and safe method. It’s love for the self, love directed at the fear. Fear is asking for something. And the answers are discovered in the deeper places within.

While there are lots of reasons resistance shows up in life, there are also new and more helpful ways of dealing with it.

The imagination which lives in your unconscious mind can help you move forward with the help of a colorful cast of characters that live within.

Are you ready to find the love in the hidden parts of resistance?

The answers are inside of you.

Catherine Gardner is a Guided Imagery Practitioner and Artist. She is an ally who helps women find access to their inner guidance system through the language of symbols for healing, creative inspiration, and meaning.
